About us
People make the difference.
Afternoon Code is a software studio on the Orteliuslaan in Utrecht. We work with a small, permanent team of experienced specialists who sit at the table themselves in every project: from the first process question to the outage on a Sunday evening. No link in the chain between you and the people who build it.

Why we exist
We have seen too often what happens when software does not fit: people working around their system, export files passed from hand to hand, and organisations that can no longer get at their own code or data.
And now that anyone can build with AI we see the opposite: beautiful tools that fit exactly, but nobody knows whether they are secure and whether they hold up under real use.
We want to make software that really fits. From decades as independent consultants we know how rarely that works out. It only does when process thinking, architecture, building and operations sit in one team that talks to each other. That is why we joined forces, and now cover the whole road from process question to running application. Code, data and accounts are in your name from day one.
What we stand for
Ownership
The code, the data and the environments are your property. No vendor lock-in: we work openly and transparently, and you can always leave us with everything under your arm.
Fitting
Our mission is software that fits 100%. So no package you work around and no concession because something happens to be easier to build.
Perseverance
We are only done when it works perfectly in practice, not when the last task is ticked off. That last stretch takes the most effort and makes the difference.
